Dr. Zachary Evans DMD, PhD

Board Certified in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry

Dr. Zach Evans grew up in North Augusta, South Carolina and spent Summers in his teens working in Western North Carolina. He earned his Eagle Scout badge, and went to the College of Charleston for his undergraduate degree.  Zach completed his PhD in Biomedical Science, dental training, and residency in periodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Zach lives with his wife Jennifer, their daughter Lana, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Banjo.

 

Dr. Evans served full-time on faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina teaching periodontics and implant surgery to students and residents, and is the 2019 American Academy of Periodontology Foundation teaching fellowship recipient.  He was director of the Master of Science in Dentistry program and remains actively engaged in research relating to dental implant and CAD/CAM technologies.  Until the end of 2020, he served as Chief Scientific Officer for CuRE Innovations, a dental biotech startup researching new dental technologies, and as the 2020 President of the South Carolina Society of Periodontists.

Dr. Evans teaches nationally and internationally on the incorporation of digital systems into surgical and implant dental practice. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience, and using this expertise to deliver world-class dental specialty treatment.

He is excited to serve Shelby, Rutherfordton, and the surrounding communities through his practice. Find him in his free time camping, mountain biking, fly fishing and otherwise enjoying the beautiful foothills and blue-ridge region of North Carolina with his family.
